FAQ: quick answers when you are stuck
These are the points people most often get stuck on, grouped by situation. For detailed steps, see the page mentioned in each answer.
Creating a draw: players and logging in
Q. Are there limits on the number of players or courts?
When you create a draw, you can have 2 to 30 players and 1 to 8 courts. Doubles needs at least 4 players per court, and singles needs at least 2 players per court. If you do not have enough, you cannot create the draw.
Q. Can I use it without logging in?
Creating a draw, entering scores, and checking results all work without logging in. Issuing share URLs also works without logging in. History, templates, and groups require you to log in.
Q. Are there player requirements when I choose Mixed Doubles?
Yes. You need at least "2 players × number of courts" of each gender. For example, with 2 courts, you need at least 4 men and 4 women.
Q. Which format should I choose?
If unsure, choose Round Robin. Choose Mexicano when you want players of similar strength to face each other, and King of the Court when you want courts to be swapped by wins and losses. The "Creating your first draw" page explains this in detail.
On the day: scores and changes in headcount
Q. I cannot enter scores.
If the pencil icon does not appear, you have opened the draw in read-only mode. Log in and open the Edit URL again. A draw created without logging in can be edited only in the browser of the device where you created it.
Q. Can I add a player partway through?
Yes. In "Edit Settings/Recalculate," add the player and tap "Save Settings and Recalculate." The "Changes during play" page explains this in detail.
Q. Do the scores I entered disappear when I recalculate?
Matches marked "Complete" are kept, including their scores. Matches not marked "Complete" are rebuilt, and their scores disappear even if you entered them. Before you recalculate, mark every finished match "Complete."
Q. What should I do when someone leaves early?
On the player settings screen, check "Rest" for that player and recalculate. Players on Rest do not join the remaining matches.
Q. I cannot generate the next round (Mexicano, King of the Court).
Check that every match in that round is marked "Complete." If even one is left, the next round cannot be created. For the last match, you can use "Finish this match and create the next draw" on the score entry screen.
Q. In King of the Court, I cannot complete a match that is tied.
In this format, a match needs a winner before it can be marked complete. If a match is tied when time runs out, enter the side that scored the next point as the winner.
Groups: requests and attendance
Q. I applied to a group, but I have not become a member.
In a group whose approval method is "Organizers approve requests," your request is "Waiting for approval." You become a member once an organizer or co-organizer approves it.
Q. Attendance changed after I created the draw.
The organizer taps "Recreate draw" on the event screen. A new draw is created, and the scores entered in the old draw are not carried over to the new one.
Q. We meet with almost the same members every time. Re-entering names is a hassle.
If you use "Duplicate" in History, you can start with the names from the last session already entered. If you use a group, you can create the draw straight from attendance.
Display: when it is hard to read, and changing the language
Q. The screen is hard to read outdoors.
Tap the palette button at the top of the screen to open "Display Customization." You can set the font size to "Extra Large," or choose the "Outdoor high contrast" theme.
Q. I want to change the language.
Choose a language with the flag button at the top of the screen. You can choose from 11 languages.
